In June 2022 I spent time in beautiful Connemara as a participant in the Create ireland Sumer School, a concentrated period of reflection for socially-engaged artists about how we can invite communities into our practice. It provided opportunities for interdisciplinary networking which I hope will lead to future collaborations. My time at the school has informed my values around ethical engagement with communities, which has guided my subsequent research and facilitation work.
My relationship with Create continues, and I’ve recently received an Artist in the Community award for a new project researching the response of the Irish diaspora to Brexit.
